Thanksgiving Day

Thursday, November 27, 2014

This Thanksgiving was the first Thanksgiving where we stayed home and just had Thanksgiving dinner with our little family.  Clinton was on call this year so we couldn't travel, and both of our families had plans so nobody came our way.  It was really nice. We stayed in our PJs for a good portion of the morning while we watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  I made a feast for dinner with all of the typical dishes. I will say, though, that I tried a bunch of new recipes from Pinterest this year and most of them were terrible!! We had no leftovers because none of us wanted to eat much of it a second time =).

I made these for breakfast.  They are turkeys, but it took the kids a minute to figure it out...

The Radio City Rockettes did a performance at the parade and our crew decided that we needed a McDougal version

Can you tell that this is the "stop taking pictures of me" face?

This is what they did for a lot of the time that I was cooking.

Since we had a full four days at home, we decided to do only underwear for Cameron and try to get potty training officially done.  We had no luck, though.  We put Thomas the Train underwear on him and told him that if he used the potty he could wear Spiderman underwear.  We hung them in the kitchen so that they would be visible. He wanted to wear them so bad, but he just couldn't remember to go to the bathroom.  He is doing much better now (it's a month later as I am writing this), and he gets to wear Spiderman underwear all of the time!

YaYa gave these to Tanner the last time we saw her and told her to decorate our Thanksgiving table with them.

Working on it =)
